"PAPER JEWELLERY "EXHIBITION-TRIENNALE MILANO 2009

When i used to study in Milan it was easier to go to events and exhibitons.In Istanbul i also have a very wide range of design activities but now i am working 6 days a week and when i have my off day i can't decide what to do.I generally have something to do or need to have a little rest.I am planning to change my job so maybe i can work less and go for more things and share with you ! =)

I am digging my old archives  and i am glad that i find really interesting things.This one was a jewellery exhibition which are made of paper.The designers were showing their creativity that what they can do with paper.(There were some turkish designers also)Nice to see testings on different materials.I will share some photos which i've been inspired from.There are gorgeous pieces.

You can see many different shapes made of paper at this neckless.Needs to work precisely.

Don't look like paper,do they ? But they are.

I think i would never think to do this.Looks like a hat connecting from

 the neck and becoming like a neckless.Love !

PHOTOSHOOT with "JAMIE MASON"

During the workshop that i've joined at London/Saint Martins last summer,we had a chance to have photoshoot with a professional english photographer Jamie Mason.We were learning about the retails and the most important thing at retail spaces is "how to present the product".To have a composition,how to place the product,how to light it,what kind of supporting elements you can use to make the composition stronger were the factors we took into consideration.Supporting element part needs focus on it because sometimes that element can take more attention from the main product.

Teacher asked everyone to bring min.2 objects and we bought some supporting elements from a decoration store.So,here are the results of the class !

The "product" is the shoe here.I love the insects walking to the shoe!

Contrast colors provide us to seperate the elements from each other.Like !

The product is the "bracelet" here.For me its hard to find which is the focused product here.Because the colour of the supporting element and colour of the product are the same and it looks messy.The colors are nice  though.

The product is the "neckless".The bird is bigger than the neckless but you can understand which is the main element.The colours and the ethnic style of the objects make a good composition.

This is one of my favourites.The photo machine is supported by  photographs.The supporting element is what's  the product's function!

This is me and my friends composition ! =) Honestly i really liked it.The product is the perfume.The brand and the shape of the bottle symbolizes luxury and elegance.Elements of a chandelier shape fits with the luxury.But the bottle is placed on the stones and the berries which are making the composition more natural. 

This is also our composition but i didn't like that much.Product is the bag ;but there could be a better composition.We see the contrast colors and the insects walking to the bag like in the 1.st composition.The result is average;we had limited time and teacher was stepping in. :(

This is pretty simple.We see again a perfume bottle with its box next to it and there are some flowers behind the composition have the same colors of the perfume.It works.

This is also really cute ! The glasses provide us to see and we need glasses to read and write.Books and the pen fits perfect with the glasses.

I don't have an education or i didn't take a course about photography but i can say it's one of my top hobbies.I generally take thousands of photos when i'm travelling and travelling is my best ! I 've spent most of my money on travelling until now and i definitely will ! Unfortunately i can not take nice photos right now because 2 of my cameras are stolen on the aircraft!One of i've dropped and when i returned in couple hours it was not there and the other was stolen from my luggage!Be careful to LOCK your luggages when you travel.Need to buy the 3rd one !

NAME CHANGE !

III don't know why but i had some problems with my blog recently.I couln't post since 1 week.Need to catch up !

Anyway i just want to say that my blog's name has changed.It was "designmania" and i took this name without any research but when i did ,i've seen someone already has this name ! So i changed my name from"designmania" to "thedesignberry"

Today i was checking my e-mails as always and you know the online-shopping websites with discounts.I was looking something interesting and i've seen a title called "Towel Cake" I've entered to look what they have and i was really impressed about this little creative things.Everyone around me knows that i am a little,cute things monster" and i really wanted to have 1 ! I decided to google it if i am the only one who doesn't know about these cakes and i've realized that this is already famous:)

In Usa people are generally using this cake towels as a "shower" gifts.Baby shower,wedding or for a bridal shower.They even have a website and you can order from there.They've seperated the designs into categories(beach towel,bridal towel,mini towel cakes etc.)

I really loved this idea as a gift and as a decoration.Most of us like to display our little towels in our bathrooms and this is a very smart idea to do it.Also if you have a guest you can put these towels for them to feel special.P.s. i wouldn't use them:)

For me Armani came up with a very smart project by building his hotel inside tallest building "Burj Khalifa".Location is also very important because we all know the luxuriest and expensive hotels are in Dubai and when you say "hotel" everyone reminds the city.The hotel in Milan was not very attractive considering this one.

Dubai is one of the world's business centers and with this hotel Armani choose to serve directly international.With its functions, the hotel targets all kind of people in different lifestyles.It also has a different style from the usual hotels in Dubai.It has the sense of luxury but minimalistic and simple decoration is coming first.You don't see the luxury but you feel the athmosphere with the materials and style.
